Role Summary

To strengthen our diverse activities, we are looking for a Research Manager (all genders) to support and oversee research efforts for Kickstarting for Good. In this role, you will manage a wide range of research-related projects and tasks, bringing your analytical skills, strategic thinking, and passion for food system transformation to the team.

Job Details

Department: Kickstarting for Good, ProVeg Incubator 
Location: Ideally Berlin or Germany remote (optionally EU-wide) 
Hours: 20 - 40 per week

Responsibilities
  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify opportunities for new initiatives, programs, and nonprofit ventures.
  • Data Analysis: Perform quantitative and qualitative research into the food system transformation space, analyzing data from multiple sources to identify trends and advocacy opportunities.
  • Idea Development: Translate research findings into concrete ideas and areas for launching impactful initiatives through the Kickstarting for Good program.
  • Reporting: Consolidate research findings into structured reports, presentations, and action plans for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in research-related outreach to funders, mentors, and partners, and contribute to discussions on platforms such as HIVE, EA Forum, and FAST Forum.
  • Surveys & Interviews: Conduct surveys and interviews with key stakeholders (funders, mentors, founders) to identify gaps and opportunities in the movement.
  • Strategic Planning: Design and implement an effective approach to developing and validating new ideas for the program.
  • Program Evaluation: Assess feedback from previous years, extract key learnings, and recommend improvements for future iterations of Kickstarting for Good.
  • Participant Support: Help Kickstarting for Good participants and graduates validate their ideas by measuring impact and conducting targeted market research.
Qualifications
  • You have completed professional training or a university degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related research-oriented field.
  • You have 3–5 years of professional experience in research and data analysis.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (German and other languages are a plus).
  • You are creative and able to develop and present innovative ideas convincingly.
  • You have strong project planning, management, and analytical skills.
  • You are highly organized with a keen eye for detail.
  • You have a positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • You are flexible and take a hands-on approach to work.
  • You strongly align with our mission and vision.
Nice to have: 
  • You have strong knowledge or experience in animal advocacy and the Effective Altruism space.
  • Experience with Notion, Lucid, and G-Suite is advantageous.

Wochenstunden: 20 - 40 pro Woche

Aufgaben
  • Marktforschung & Analyse: Durchführung umfassender Marktanalysen zur Identifikation neuer Initiativen, Programme und Non-Profit-Projekte.
  • Datenanalyse: Quantitative und qualitative Forschung im Bereich der Transformation des Lebensmittelsystems, Analyse von Daten aus verschiedenen Quellen zur Identifikation von Trends und Möglichkeiten.
  • Ideenentwicklung: Umsetzung von Forschungsergebnissen in konkrete Ideen und Konzepte für neue Initiativen im Rahmen des Kickstarting for Good-Programms.
  • Berichterstattung: Konsolidierung von Forschungsergebnissen in strukturierte Berichte, Präsentationen und Aktionspläne für interne und externe Stakeholder.
  • Stakeholder-Engagement: Unterstützung bei der forschungsbezogenen Kommunikation mit Geldgeber*innen, Mentor*innen und Partner*innen sowie Teilnahme an Diskussionen auf Plattformen wie HIVE, EA Forum und FAST Forum.
  • Umfragen & Interviews: Durchführung von Umfragen und Interviews mit Stakeholdern, um Bedarfe und Chancen in der Bewegung zu identifizieren.
  • Strategische Planung: Entwicklung und Umsetzung effektiver Methoden zur Ideenentwicklung und -validierung für das Programm.
  • Programmevaluation: Analyse von Feedback aus den Vorjahren, Identifikation zentraler Erkenntnisse und Vorschläge zur Optimierung des Programms.
  • Unterstützung der Teilnehmenden: Hilfe für Kickstarting for Good-Teilnehmende und -Absolvent*innen bei der Validierung ihrer Ideen durch Impact-Messung und gezielte Marktforschung.
Anforderungen
Erforderlich: 
  • Du hast ein abgeschlossenes Studium oder eine einschlägige Ausbildung in Data Science, Business Analytics oder einem verwandten forschungsorientierten Bereich.
  • Du bringst 3–5 Jahre Berufserfahrung in der Forschung und Datenanalyse mit.
  • Du verfügst über hervorragende verbale und schriftliche Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in Englisch (Deutsch und weitere Sprachen sind ein Plus).
  • Du bist kreativ und kannst innovative Ideen überzeugend präsentieren.
  • Du besitzt starke Fähigkeiten in der Projektplanung, -steuerung und Analyse.
  • Du hast ein hohes Maß an Organisationstalent und arbeitest detailgenau.
  • Du hast eine positive, proaktive und lösungsorientierte Einstellung.
  • Du bist flexibel und gehst Aufgaben mit einer praktischen Herangehensweise an.
  • Du identifizierst dich mit der Mission und Vision.
Wünschenswert: 
  • Du hast fundiertes Wissen oder Erfahrung in der Tierrechtsbewegung und im Bereich des Effektiven Altruismus.
  • Du hast Erfahrung mit Notion, Lucid und G-Suite.
