Role Summary
The Head of Impact will lead and strengthen ProVeg International's ability to measure, evaluate and communicate its impact, ensuring that the organisation continuously improves its strategic approach to replacing global animal consumption by 50% by 2040. This leadership role will oversee and strengthen the organisation's Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework, driving data-driven decision-making, learning and transparency across all departments.

Working closely with the International Operations, Fundraising, Communications and Research teams, the Head of Impact will design and implement a robust impact strategy that informs both internal learning and external reporting. The role will also supervise the existing MEL team (currently comprising a Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Manager and a Monitoring & Evaluation Manager), providing strategic guidance and leadership to ensure ProVeg maximises its impact.

Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Impact Framework Development
  • Lead the development and implementation of ProVeg International’s impact strategy to align with the organisation’s mission and long-term objectives
  • Oversee the refinement of the Theory of Change and Logical Frameworks, ensuring their integration into organisational planning and decision-making
  • Provide strategic leadership on impact measurement across ProVeg’s projects and campaigns, ensuring that findings directly inform programme improvements
  • Work closely with senior leadership to embed a culture of impact-driven decision-making and communication across the organisation
2. Organisational Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of ProVeg’s MEL framework, fostering cross-departmental accountability so that data can be systematically collected and used to inform organisational strategy, fundraising efforts, and external engagement
  • Oversee the design and management of KPIs and OKRs, establishing clear accountability mechanisms to ensure consistent and reliable data collection across departments and refine processes to improve ongoing tracking of organisational progress
  • Guide the MEL team in developing and implementing best-practice evaluation methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative approaches
  • Lead the preparation of impact reports, annual reviews, and internal learning documents to effectively communicate ProVeg’s achievements
  • Work with the Communications and Fundraising teams to disseminate impact insights to external stakeholders through various channels (newsletters, website, social media, etc.)
3. Project & Programme Evaluation
  • Expand and systemise the evidence base supporting impact assessments of ProVeg's interventions ensuring that insights inform strategic decision-making and strengthen fundraising narratives.
  • Integrate academic, intervention-level and programme best practice MEL insights into ProVeg’s impact assessments
  • Oversee the evaluation of key strategic initiatives, ensuring robust methodologies are applied to assess their effectiveness and scalability
  • Collaborate with project managers and national teams to co-design MEL frameworks tailored to different interventions that are practical for implementation, and both aligned with strategic decision-making and donor reporting needs 
  • Ensure evaluation studies and impact assessments are conducted systematically, with findings used to refine future programming
  • Establish processes for capturing and sharing lessons learned, driving organisational adaptation and effectiveness
4. Data Management & Reporting
  • Provide oversight on the integrity, accessibility, visualisation, and strategic use of impact data by continuously improving organisation-wide KPI and impact measurement systems, leveraging automation where feasible, and ensuring data is presented in clear, easily understandable formats (e.g. Google Looker Studio dashboards) for effective interpretation and application
  • Ensure the quality, consistency, and security of organisational data, adhering to GDPR and ethical data collection standards
  • Support ProVeg’s research initiatives by guiding the analysis and interpretation of impact data in collaboration with the Research team
  • Advise on best practices for using impact data in external advocacy, fundraising proposals, and strategic partnerships
5. Leadership & Team Management
  • Manage and support the MEL team and its budget, ensuring clarity of roles, effective collaboration, and professional development opportunities
  • Foster an environment of learning, innovation, and knowledge-sharing within the MEL team and across the organisation
  • Represent ProVeg International externally in networks, partnerships, and sector-wide discussions on impact and evaluation
Qualifications
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong expertise (5+ years) in impact evaluation, monitoring, and learning within the non-profit, advocacy, or international development sector
  • Experience in leading impact strategies and MEL frameworks in a multi-country, cross-functional context
  • Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative evaluation methodologies and their practical application in order to conduct thorough impact assessments
  • Experience with quantitative research tools such as SPSS, R, and STATA, with the ability to apply these tools effectively during data analysis in order to quantify project successes
  • Background in fundraising impact reporting and using MEL to support grant applications
  • Familiarity with advocacy impact measurement and the challenges of tracking long-term behaviour change
  • Expertise in data systems and automation t with proficiency in data management, storage solutions and ETL processes, as well as reporting, and visualisation tools (e.g., Google BigQuery, Google Looker Studio, APIs, Excel, survey platforms)
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex impact data into compelling narratives for both internal and external audiences
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience managing teams and working across departments
  • Good understanding of food system transformation and protein diversification
  • Strong understanding of data protection and GDPR compliance in relation to impact measurement
  • Passionate about ProVeg’s mission and the role of impact-driven decision-making in achieving social change
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Experience with CRM systems, APIs, and automation to improve data collection and reporting efficiency
  • Experience working remotely and in an international team with multiple country contexts
