About the Opportunity: As our Project Lead, you will be instrumental in designing, launching, and overseeing high-impact pilot projects that reshape India's food landscape. These critical initiatives will span both urban and rural areas, demanding hands-on coordination and deep engagement with a wide array of stakeholders from government officials and industry leaders to nonprofit partners and local communities. This is a unique opportunity for a mission-driven leader with exceptional project management acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and a proven ability to collaborate across sectors. Given the on-the-ground nature of our work, significant travel to rural project sites will be a core component of this role. You'll need to demonstrate a nuanced understanding and ability to build rapport with both grassroots communities and high-level officials.
Job Details
Reports to: Executive Director, ProVeg India
Location: India (Frequent travel, 2 to 3 weeks a month)
Position Type: Full time (40 h per week)
CTC Range: ₹80,000 – ₹1,20,000 per month
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, rollout, and management of pilot projects aligned with ProVeg India's strategic goals.

  • Act as the primary liaison for all project-related communications, coordinating with internal teams and external partners.

  • Travel regularly to rural project sites across India to oversee implementation and engage with local stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, private sector partners, and other key institutions.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing project budgets, including financial planning, tracking, and reporting.

  • Ensure timely reporting, documentation, and adherence to project milestones and budgets.

  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation to measure impact and recommend improvements.

  • Represent ProVeg India at events, meetings, and conferences when needed.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in project management, preferably in the social impact, nonprofit, or development sector.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience engaging with both rural communities and urban institutions.

  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within India, including to remote areas.

  • Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of additional regional languages is a plus.

  • Demonstrated organizational and analytical abilities.
