Role Summary
As a key partner to the International Head of Finance, you will play a central role in managing the financial health and operational efficiency of ProVeg International's global entities. You will be instrumental in building an efficient finance function and will join the team at a pivotal time as we implement new international finance software and streamline core processes.

Location: Remote, preferably based in Berlin or otherwise in UK/DE/PL/ES/NL
Hours: 32-40 h per week
Salary: €30-40k or £30-40k (depending on location, qualifications and working hours)
Responsibilities
  • Support for the International Head of Finance: Act as a critical support partner, assisting with a range of financial, operational, and administrative tasks to ensure the international finance function operates smoothly and effectively.

  • Intercompany Consolidations: Manage and execute the end-to-end intercompany consolidation process, ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of financial data across all ProVeg entities.

  • Project and Grant Accounting: Provide dedicated accounting support for international projects and grants, including meticulous budget tracking, expenditure monitoring, and detailed financial reporting to both internal project managers and external stakeholders.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Play an active role in the annual budget cycle and the regular forecasting process, collaborating with teams to develop and manage their financial plans.

  • Actuals Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial actuals reports. You will be responsible for identifying key variances and providing clear, actionable insights to the leadership team.

  • Leadership Team Updates: Assist in the preparation of regular finance updates and presentations for the leadership team, ensuring that key financial metrics and performance are communicated with clarity and precision.

  • Financial Transformation: Make key contributions in building an efficient finance function by actively participating in the streamlining of processes and the rollout of new international finance software.
Qualifications
Financial Expertise
  • Advanced Financial Analysis: The ability to not only prepare financial reports but also to analyze them deeply, identify trends, and provide meaningful, data-driven insights to leadership.
  • Accounting Principles: A strong understanding of core accounting principles, particularly in relation to intercompany transactions, project accounting, and grant management.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Proficiency in developing, managing, and tracking budgets, and the ability to work with various teams to create realistic and accurate financial forecasts.
Technical and Systems Proficiency
  • Advanced Google Sheets & Data Modeling: Strong proficiency that goes beyond basic usage and includes  complex formulas (e.g., ARRAYFORMULA, QUERY, IMPORTDATA), pivot tables, and using Sheets to build robust financial models.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Stakeholder Communication: The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-finance professionals, from project managers to the leadership team.
  • Collaboration: A collaborative mindset is essential for working with various international teams to develop budgets and provide project support.
  • Problem-Solving: The capacity to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and propose effective, data-backed solutions.
Strategic & Operational Mindset
  • Efficiency & Process Improvement: A natural inclination towards finding ways to streamline existing processes and improve efficiency. This is critical for building the "new and efficient finance function" you mentioned.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all financial reporting, consolidations, and grant-related tasks.
