IT specialist - CRM systems & web development (m/f/d)

Role Summary
The new IT specialist will be responsible for the configuration and maintenance of CiviCRM as well as for its enhancement and integration with other systems. If necessary they will provide technical support and training for other staff members. Another key focus of the job is the setup and maintenance of various newsletters as well as the support of the IT team and the web team. The new IT specialist will take over web development tasks and participate in IT and cross-functional projects.

Hours: 20 -30 hours/week

  • writing snippets for CiviCRM

  • API integration for CiviCRM with WordPress

  • integration for CiviCRM with Mailchimp and Mailjet

  • setting up and maintaining newsletters (in CiviCRM and other systems)

  • building custom reports

  • monitoring performance of CiviCRM

  • providing support and training for CiviCRM

  • designing and implementing new features and functionality for websites

  • ensuring consistency of website architecture

  • ensuring consistency of branding and design on our websites

  • ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS

  • helping formulate effective solutions to deliver online campaigns that include high traffic campaign websites, petitions, webinar events, ticket sales, member logins

  • automate tasks across Google products with Google Apps Script

  • support of the IT team and the webteam

  • participation in IT and cross functional projects



  • solid technical background

  • experience with a CRM system preferably CiviCRM

  • experience in working with APIs

  • good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript

  • ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages

  • ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers

  • understanding of PHP back-end development

  • ability to learn new skills in a short period of time

  • excellent knowledge of WordPress development and site + plugin maintenance and security

  • comfortable working with debugging tools 

  • excellent English and German language skills

  • excellent time management skills and a motivated work style

  • solution-oriented working

  • team player 


  • experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications

  • experience designing and developing responsive design websites

  • experience with code versioning tools

  • experience with Drupal

  • experience with MariaDB
